About Metagg

Metagg started because we were curious just how social Social News really was. For example, if a certain link was popular on Digg, would it also be popular on Reddit?

We also love reading comments, almost as much as reading the actual story and wanted an easy way to compile a list of all the discussions about the most popular sites on the internet so we could not only read an interesting article but also see what other people were saying about it.

These two reasons led us to create Metagg. We find it pretty dang useful and hope you do too.

Hacking Metagg

There are actually some pretty nifty things that Metagg can do to help you find the information you want.

to quickly check a certain tag:

metagg.com/tag/tech

You can also check multiple tags. This means that an entry has to contain all the given tags in order to be shown:

metagg.com/tag/tech+gene

You can do the same thing with sources that you can do with tags:

metagg.com/source/delicious+digg

You can also check a URL:

metagg.com/url/reddit.com

And you can check a host:

metagg.com/host/cnn.com

If you are linking to a link summary on Metagg and don't like the long Url you can shorten it to:

metagg.com/link/1/
